Notice anything different around here? Maybe you caught that there’s no stock images of nameless people in glass-walled boardrooms… or that there’s not confusing or vacuous AI-generated copy instead of simple, real explanations.

We intentionally eschewed those usual design elements that you see in the websites of a lot of consulting firms. Instead, we do most of this by hand–photos here are ones that we took ourselves; we work with a real-life artist for all of our illustrations; we think hard about the copy we publish here.

It’s a little bit more work, but we like it this way. Our web-presence here is how most of our clients first get to interact with us, so we think it should reflect how we approach our work: no gimmicks, no shortcuts, no hot air.

Our Philosophy

Because of our backgrounds, we started NovoAuxilia with an interesting and different perspective.

Having worked in top-tier organizations in our respective fields, we saw how transformative the latest technology can be–but we also saw how often lofty promises were missed entirely, and how demoralizing failed implementations could be.

In particular, we saw how difficult it was for smaller organizations (non-profits, hospitals, and municipalities) to successfully leverage new business technologies, despite there being obvious and clear potential for efficiency improvements and better productivity.

This felt wrong.

As the consulting industry catering to business management software has grown, we’ve watched the focus go from providing actual, measurable productivity improvements in those places where it matters most to instead chasing the highest margin projects for those organizations that need the additional productivity the least.

At the same time, it became increasingly common for some of our most beloved local organizations to struggle, downsize, and close entirely.

We knew how it was happening, but we also knew it didn’t have to be that way. So, we started NovoAuxilia, with a chartered focus on working as hard as we could for those organizations where we could have the biggest impact. We asked ourselves, what would it mean for our favorite non-profit if we could cut their technology costs by half while improving their productivity? What would it mean to help a county hospital improve the accuracy of their surgical inventory data without increasing their licensing fees?

Those questions in mind, we decided to make a conscious, deliberate effort to provide that sort of help, and along the way make a welcoming home for those people who believed in that worldview and wanted to do that work along with us.

And so here we are: that’s exactly what we’re doing now, and what do you know? Maybe we were on to something.
